Maternal and fetal complications during COVID-19 pandemic- A study of Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Peshawar Pakistan.

Objectives: To assess the association of maternal and neonatal complications from COVID-19 severity. Study Design: Case-series. Setting: Department Obstetrics Gynecology, Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Peshawar Pakistan. Period: June 2020 to Dec 2020. Material & Methods: 50 pregnant patients with were included. Clinical information on exposures noted through a pre-designed proforma. The Kendall’s tau (τ) test was applied between complications, severity (in mothers) maternal/neonatal complications. Results: More women (52%) asymptomatic in exposure. Mild symptoms no shortness breath reported 44% women, whereas only 4% required ventilator support. 80% postpartum when they turned negative. In majority (72%) noted. 14% them, oligohydramnios reported. Preterm labor PROM/PPROM 6% mothers. birth 10%, fetal, APGAR score 7-9 out 10. neonates (94%), early death 42% distress/meconium 8%, intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) 6%, stillbirth 5%. 82% negative PCR.
